Dear Madam or Sir,
I am Cheney from Australia. In November 2015, we invested in a company called Avocado Biotech in Zhejiang, China. The founder of the company Luhua Zhong was list as a Ph.D. from MIT and is distinguished expert from the Chinese State Council’s recruitment program of global experts. The company used biodegradable material technology for sewage treatment. The technology name was ISSA PGPR in-situ microbial restoration technology used for water pollution control. Later, it was found that the technology had no effect in sewage treatment, resulting in significant investment losses.
After investigation, Luhua Zhong did not graduate from MIT but graduated with a master’s degree in science from the University of Massachusetts. Luhua Zhong established Shenzhen Ecoman Biotechnology Co., Ltd. in China in 2008, stating that he was a senior researcher of Metabolix Inc and owns more than ten patents for biodegradable materials technology. This project has been highly valued by the Chinese government and has been awarded the title “The thousand talent plan’ of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. The Chinese government allocated 80 million yuan of funds and 200 acres of land to build a production base for this project. After the production, the sales did not go as expected due to low efficiency and high production costs.
We enquire that whether if Luhua Zhong have your authorisation to use the technology: Biopolymers and PHA latex in China during 2008 while employment with Metabolix Inc. And whether if this biodegradable technology might have any correlation with sewage treatment.
