Avantium Renewable Polymers

Avantium Renewable Polymers aims to commercialize our YXY plants-to-plastics Technology.

This technology catalytically converts plant-based sugars into FDCA (furandicarboxylic acid) and materials such as the new plant-based packaging material PEF (polyethylene furanoate).

PEF is a 100% plant-based, 100% recyclable plastic with superior performance properties compared to today’s widely used petroleum-based packaging materials.

Collaborations

Our strategy is to collaborate with leading brands and industrial companies worldwide to create a strong global demand for plant-based products based on FDCA.

We are currently involved in partnerships with Mitsui, Toyobo, Alpla, Danone, Carlsberg, Paboco, BillerudKorsnäs, and R&F Chemical for the development of 100% plant-based PEF bottles and films.

Moreover, Avantium Renewable Polymers is part of the “PEFerence” consortium, an EU flagship project to establish an innovative FDCA and PEF supply chain.

Bolstered by these collaborative partnerships, we are actively seeking additional like-minded brands and plastic conversion companies to team up with us to challenge the status quo of today’s materials.

If you are interested in working together, please contact the Leadership Team of Avantium Renewable Polymers.

YXY Technology

Imagine a circular plant-based plastic with high performance properties and endless possibilities for application.

Our YXY Technology catalytically converts plant-based sugar (fructose) into a wide range of plant-based chemicals and plastics, such as polyethylene furanoate (PEF).

PEF is a 100% plant-based, 100% recyclable plastic with superior performance properties compared to today’s widely used petroleum-based packaging materials.
