Mainstream media are not covering the ‘German farmers protest’ as they should and when they do they label the protest as a ‘far-right’ movement. The German farmers disagree and say that’s a lie.
To make a long story short, German farmers are protesting against the current austerity measures taken by national governments and the EU commission.
In addition, we are going through difficult times: covid lockdown, Russian-Ukraine war, EU boycott against Russian gas (Germany was relying on Russian gas + Nord Stream pipelines were sabotaged), Inflation, etc.
But the real problems is the following: The poor are getting poorer, the rich are getting richer. The poor must follow the rules, the rich can use the loopholes. The poor pay a high tax rate, the rich can use trust funds and tax optimisation.
In short, society is getting more and more divided and the feeling of socio-economic injustice amongst the farmers and the rest of society is getting bigger.
Here are a few videos of the ‘German Farmers protest’ circulating on social media.

The huge protests by German farmers have received some media coverage but not enough to really galvanise widespread public solidarity. Let’s continue to use social media to raise awareness of this historic mobilisation. They deserve our support.
