While this represents a renewed partnership, the relationship between BPI and USCC has been there since the beginning. The first compostable certification mark was actually co-branded with BPI and USCC’s logos and names, and was based on identifying standards for compostability that manufacturers of products and composters agreed on. Characterizing EPR as bribery is a fundamental misconception.
