Bahrain is planning a major petrochemical complex in Sitra, with Honeywell providing technology and engineering services. The facility aims to produce 1.2 million tonnes of paraxylene and 500,000 tonnes of benzene annually. Both chemicals are essential for manufacturing plastics, polyester fibres and industrial products. The investment would strengthen Bahrain’s petrochemical industry and expand its chemical production capacity significantly.
