China has opened an anti-dumping investigation into imports of p-nitrotoluene from the European Union, following complaints from domestic producers. The chemical intermediate is used in dyes, pigments, pesticides and pharmaceuticals. The probe adds another industrial dispute to increasingly tense EU–China trade relations, with chemicals now joining electric vehicles and other manufactured goods under closer scrutiny.
