Macron now blames Europe’s competitiveness decline on the loss of cheap Russian gas. Yet he pushed for massive EU support to Ukraine while backing a strategy that ultimately helped destroy the very Russian energy infrastructure Europe depended on. The contradiction is remarkable.
My view is that Macron is either serving forces that operate beyond democratic accountability, or he has shown remarkably poor judgment.
