The EU plastics and chemical industry is collapsing. Two reasons:
- The European Commission
The European Commission has an inferiority complex towards the US government. To compensate on this complex, the Commission wants to regulate everything and every aspect of life so it gives them the wrong perception that they’re in control. The result: too many rules, too much red tape and too many regulations that nobody understands.
- Industry’s lobbying
Some of European Bioplastics’s lobbyists are advocating against fossil fuel plastics. They’re contributing to the creation of a false narrative against fossil plastics and are damaging the reputation of (fossil) plastics in general. European Bioplastics hires nasty lobbyists who have been successful in conspiring against fossil plastics …. in addition they get all the PlasticsEurope strategy from the member companies who are in both trade associations.
PlasticsEurope, on the other hand is promoting, compostable and bio-based plastics … but because PlasticsEurope is perceived as the bad guys (due to the lobbying of European Bioplastics) … it creates a downwards spiral dragging compostable and bio-based plastics down ….
To solve this problem, you need heavy measures.
I would suggest PlasticsEurope to cut off all ties with European Bioplastics and to force their members to quit European Bioplastics to stop them conspiring against everybody … including the recyclers.
