EU Commission Closes Antitrust Case Against Ethanol Cartel

The European Commission has decided to close its antitrust investigation into Alcogroup S.A. and its subsidiary Alcodis S.A. (together ‘Alcogroup') for their alleged participation in a cartel concerning the wholesale price formation mechanism for ethanol in Europe -- I don't know the particular for this case, but what I do know is that when it comes to fighting "antitrust cartels" the EU Commission is not the sharpest tool in the box ... to say the least
