Producer, entertainer and former Strictly Come Dancing pro Brendan Cole presented the winners with the award in front of a packed audience of industry professionals at a gala dinner at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Friday (28th September).
The competition was fierce but the judges praised the exceptional quality of Floreon’s PLA as superior to the available alternatives. Floreon has developed a groundbreaking formula that may lead to a disruption in the plastic cutlery industry.
Floreon’s bioplastic is compostable, recyclable and will offer a real sustainable alternative to current materials. Their formula converts regular PLA into a super PLA with features such as high heat resistance, fast cycle times, excellent impact resistance and suitability for contact with all types of food.
This material is set to become the next big thing on the bioplastics market.
Launched in 2001, and held annually in London, the Plastics Industry Awards are dedicated to rewarding innovation and exceptional performance in an increasingly competitive market. Sixteen categories cover materials usage, product design, manufacturing, training and environmental performance, and entries are judged by a panel of industry experts.
