Repsol says two new plastics plants at its Sines complex in Portugal will begin operating in the coming months. The €820 million Project Alba adds annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes of linear polyethylene and 300,000 tonnes of polypropylene. Operating permits are secured. The expansion contrasts with chemical plant closures elsewhere in Europe and is expected to create 100 direct jobs.
