Türkiye Bets Big on Petrochemicals

Türkiye’s Petkim is moving ahead with a major petrochemical expansion, launching about $70 million in engineering work for a new mixed-feed cracker and additional polyethylene and polypropylene capacity. The project involves Technip Energies, Univation and Lummus. If completed, it could significantly increase domestic polymer production and reduce Türkiye’s dependence on imported plastics and petrochemical feedstocks.
