Wanhua Chemical America agreed to pay $7.75 million to settle a long-running U.S. antitrust class action involving MDI and TDI. Direct purchasers alleged major chemical producers conspired to fix prices and restrict supply. The litigation began in 2018. Wanhua became the third company to settle, following BASF at $3 million and Covestro at $7 million. The settlement requires court approval.
The claims process is now open in the broader MDI/TDI antitrust case. Settlements involving Wanhua, BASF, Covestro, Dow and Huntsman total $37.65 million. Claims linked to Wanhua must be filed by October 13, 2026, ahead of a fairness hearing scheduled for December 7.
