BASF has appointed Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan to prepare the potential IPO of its Agricultural Solutions business. The German chemical giant wants the division ready for a possible Frankfurt listing by mid-2027. The move is part of CEO Markus Kamieth’s broader restructuring strategy, aimed at giving individual businesses greater independence while cutting costs and simplifying BASF’s sprawling portfolio. A final IPO decision has not yet been taken.
Personal remark
If I were the German or EU authorities, I’m not sure I would allow this.
