Hold on … UAE is building a PLA plant? I though UAE had lots of fossil ressources but no agriculture because it’s too dry in the dessert.
I mean … I can understand that NatureWorks which is owned by Cargill, decides to find a new revenue stream for its over subsidised corn.
I can understand that Total Energies Corbion builds a plant in Thailand to produce PLA with sugarcane.
But importing bio-based feedstocks to produce PLA in a country which sits on oil fields … is just nonsense.
