Australia Will Convert Plastic Waste into Fuel

Australia has just opened a new waste conversion plant in Sydney that will convert landfill into fuel.

The plant will process 250,000 tonnes of waste each year representing the content of 50.000 waste trucks.

The plant will use anything that can’t be recycled, including plastics, and will turn it into a dry pulp known as PEF (Process Engineered Fuel)

50 jobs will be created and the PEF will be supplied to Boral, Australia’s largest construction material company.

Australia produces 64 million tonnes of waste annually but only recycles 35 million tonnes.
