Treva

Treva is the Bioplastic Brand of Eastman

Eastman Trēva™ engineering bioplastic is a cellulose-based thermoplastic that offers both high performance and reduced environmental impact.

Trēva is chemically resistant and dimensionally stable and has excellent flow and low birefringence.

  • Excellent chemical resistance allows it to stand up better than other engineering bioplastics to some of the harshest chemicals we encounter every day, including skin oils, popular sunscreens, and household cleaners.
  • Excellent flow characteristics allow it to be used with complicated parts and in filling thin walls, enabling design freedom. Innovate with confidence when molding or extruding.
  • Its low birefringence can eliminate the rainbow effect some plastics experience with polarized light. Expect great optical performance when looking at your electronic device or through a retail display.

Made from trees

The key raw material used to make Trēva is cellulose derived from sustainably harvested trees.

It is functional and sustainable, which allows less material in use and creates products that will last longer.

The overall result is a BPA-free bioplastic that hits that “just right” sweet spot of reducing environmental impact without compromising overall performance.

Biobased content

The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) BioPreferred® program has certified Eastman Trēva™ engineering bioplastic GC6021 with a biobased content of 42% and Eastman Trēva™ engineering bioplastic GC6011 with a biobased content of 45%.

Material flow with no rainbows

The excellent flow characteristics of Trēva enable design freedom, allowing it to be used with complicated parts and in filling thin walls.

Furthermore, the low birefringence of Trēva eliminates the rainbow effect some plastics experience with polarized light.

You can innovate with confidence when molding or extruding and expect great optical performance when looking at your electronic device through a retail display.
