Italian energy giant Eni reported third-quarter adjusted net profit of €2.8 billion, more than doubling last year’s €1.25 billion and beating analyst expectations. Stronger oil and gas production, higher energy prices and refining margins boosted earnings. Eni announced a €1.3 billion special dividend, increased its share buyback programme to €3.8 billion and raised its annual operating cash flow forecast.
