TotalEnergies posted $8.3 billion in third-quarter net profit, more than double last year’s figure, as soaring diesel prices and refining margins boosted earnings. Adjusted profit reached $9.1 billion, while its refining and chemicals division earned $3.6 billion. The French energy giant also announced $2.5 billion in share buybacks for each of the next two quarters, rewarding shareholders amid market turmoil.
