Did Russia and China Ultimately Win the Cold War?
Perhaps Russia and China ultimately won the Cold War—not militarily or politically, but culturally. Having visited both countries, I was struck by their sense of order, discipline and respect for tradition. Meanwhile, Europe seems increasingly trapped in poverty, crime, drugs, social unrest and cultural decline. We celebrate freedom, yet millions struggle financially, while freedom of expression faces growing pressures. I am no admirer of communism, but perhaps its legacy preserved something the West has gradually abandoned: social cohesion, cultural identity and a shared sense of purpose. It is an uncomfortable conclusion.
