Anellotech is liquidating after nearly two decades developing technologies to convert biomass and plastic waste into petrochemical feedstocks. The US company had promoted its Plas-TCat process as a route to BTX aromatics, ethylene and propylene from mixed plastic waste. Its collapse raises fresh questions about the economics, scalability and commercial viability of advanced recycling technologies.
