Circular Bioeconomy and its Biorefineries are a key driver of innovation, regeneration and more sustainable growth. The circular Bioeconomy is rooted in local resources and interdisciplinary by nature, it connect multiple sectors and technologies while strengthening regional value chains.
To balance economic, environmental and social sustainability, we must harness its vast potential: restoring natural capital, cutting carbon emissions, reshaping production and consumption, exploiting every type of waste and by-product through innovation and efficient resource use.
This fosters long-term stability, community well-being and political resilience.
This petition is addressed to all those who believe the circular bioeconomy is vital for the future of the European Union.
It supports the IFIB Turin Statement, launched in the wake of the International Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy (25-26 September 2025), which calls on the European Commission to place the bioeconomy at the heart of its development, competitiveness, and resilience plan.
This is so that the European Bioeconomy Strategy, to be presented by the end of the year, can pave the way for an action plan and a future Bioeconomy Act.
Read the statement and be part of the transformation.
