Message to ENI CEO

Dear Mr. Descalzi,

Subject: Extending an Olive Branch

I apologize for reaching out to you directly, as I’m sure your time is valuable, but under the current circumstances I felt I had no alternative.

Unfortunately, we have reached a point of friction with some members of ENI’s legal department.

One of the key reasons for the disagreement with Novamont and ENI has been the lack of direct communication from decision-makers. That absence has made it very difficult to resolve matters constructively.

When reviewing your background, I noticed your track record as an engineer — someone who knows how to build real solutions rather than abstract legal or financial constructs. This gave me confidence that you would appreciate a more straightforward, solution-driven dialogue.

I am therefore reaching out to you personally, as I believe it is the right step for well-intentioned people in this situation. I trust you will recognize the sincerity in this attempt to extend an olive branch.

That said, time is not on our side. This offer cannot remain open indefinitely. I kindly ask for a positive response within 2 working days. Tuesday, 9 September at 08:00 a.m. is the latest I can reasonably allow. Should you be interested, please have your assistant or secretary contact me directly at my personal email.

From here, the responsibility lies with you.

Yours sincerely,

AB
