PPWD became PPWR
Not much new besides a fancy wording and bourgeois ‘cocktail reception’ and ‘garden parties’ intentions.
The European institutions still pretend they’re in charge of the ‘plastic waste’ monster and that they’re ‘on target’. Hilarious. The EU institutions have become such good actors and liars.
I don’t expect much difference with the new European Commission. We’re just sliding the problem under the carpet and pretending that it’s all fine in Wonderland.
Just remember that it all happened under the watch of Ursula von der Leyen who is advised by McKinsey.
Chemical Recycling
A really bad year for chemical recycling. Most of the industry knows that it’s a dead end besides a few limited applications. However, you can still get EU funding for fake chemical recycling projects so it’s still garage sale and fancy fair in the wonderful European land of chemical recycling.
Plastic Treaty and the UN
The plastic treaty talks were a fiasco. It has become clear for the middle class that the United Nations is a corrupt organisation. Nobody asked the UN to make a treaty on plastic, but UN diplomats felt the urge to remain ‘relevant’ by making laws on god knows what that nobody will implement anyway.
To be honest with you, I’d rather have the UN being busy concocting a treaty on plastic than having them cooking another ‘covid virus vaccines conspiracy’ through the WHO.
The UN should be there to protect the middle class but in fact they’re just there to give a leverage to the elite.
The UN should be there to guarantee the human rights of honest citizens but in fact they’re more busy providing diplomatic immunity to criminal organisations.
The Real Waste Management
Incinerations (Energy Recovery) is doing the biggest part of dealing with the side effect of our consumption society followed by landfilled.
I prefer incineration as we’re dealing with the waste immediately instead of leaving it to the next generations. The European Commission wants to ban the incineration of plastic …. hilarious…. they believe plastic waste can vanish without leaving any traces in a wonderful imaginary land called ‘recycling’ and ‘recycled content.
Recycling
We’re on track and we’re recycling something like 50 % of our plastic waste according to official EU and national data.
😜 🤡 🤣
Hilarious … then again, we all know the credibility of Eurostat … pretending that there was no inflation in the EU since the introduction of the Euro for more than 20 years ….
🙈 🙉 🙊
Recycled Content
The fake recycling numbers lead to fake ‘recycled content’ pellets’ who are exported outside the EU … to be incinerated. All of this is financed with EU money. I was explained in detailed how the criminal and money laundering operations worked in practices. It’s through legal constructions in half a dozen of non-EU countries (some of them are tax havens) but it all departs from Italy and Italian lobbyists.
Compostable plastics
German BASF and Italian ENI have been the driving force in making us eat more plastic. They want to contaminate our farmlands with contaminated compost. All of this financed with EU tax payer money.
Imagine the tons of plastic waste coming at the poor composters. Those guys have no idea about the tsunami of plastic waste coming into their direction.
OXO plastic
Probably the better invention in terms of biodegradation of plastic waste but still banned in the EU through the lobbying activities of the European (compostable) Bioplastics cartel.
Sending plastic waste to composter should be a no go due to the contamination of the food chain. Biodegradation of littered plastic (OXO) was the most interesting proposal on the table, but we’ll never find out.
Final Remarks
All the best for the new year. Don’t place too much hope in the European plastic waste management model as its just an illusion. We’re still exporting our plastic waste in the form of unusable recycled plastic pellets.
That’s how the cookie crumbles in the European Union.
