How DRC is Struggling to Manage Plastic Waste

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is home to the second largest rainforest in the world – making it one of the designated nations tackling the climate crisis.

But its capital Kinshasa is struggling to cope with increasing quantities of waste.

Local authorities say every day, the city produces at least 7,000 tons of garbage – most of which ends up in flames.
