The €70 million ($80m) investment will increase production capacity by 25 %, from 120,000 tonnes to 150,000t per year, to produce more Origo-Bi biopolyesters and components of Mater-Bi compostable bioplastics. Novamont may investments another €30 million in the next three years.
The plant is 140,000 sq m, employs 90 staff and produces bioplastics for coffee cups and pods, carrier bags, straws and food packaging.

Novamont is supplying UK’s Co-op retailer, Leclerc (France), Carrefour (France and Italy), Coop (Finland), Delhaize (Belgium), and Esselunga (Italy).
