AGRANA’s bioplastic
AGENACOMP shows that it is possible to use the functionalization of biomaterials to allow the incorporation of significant amounts of starch into bioplastic formulations.
AGENCOMP allows the use of films less than 15 μmon standard polymer equipment.
APPLICATION
- Carrier bags
- Fruit and vegetable bags
- Bio-waste bags
- Mulch films
- Non woven fibers
PROPERTIES
- Bio-based
AGENACOMP compounds are available with a bio-based content of more than 50 %.
- Film
A 25 µm film typically results in an extensibility of 350 % and a tensile strength of 25 MPa.
- No smoke
The new technology of AGENACOMP significantly reduces the development of smoke during film blowing.
- Stretching
Stretching increases the tensile strength, whereby values in a range of 60 MPa are accomplished (depending on the applied draw-ratio).
- Bio-degradation & composting
AGENACOMP compounds are home-compostable.
- Certifications
The certification of AGENACOMP is currently ongoing. Based on our good knowledge of bioplastics, AGENACOMP will be certified for TÜV OK COMPOST HOME/INDUSTRIAL and for BIO-BASED CONTENT soon.
