BP is expanding its offshore Namibia presence after receiving final ministerial approval to acquire 60% interests in three exploration licences from Eco Atlantic. BP will operate PEL97, PEL99 and PEL100 in the Walvis Basin, while carrying Eco’s remaining interest through the current exploration phase. The deal gives BP another foothold in one of Africa’s most closely watched exploration regions.
