Germany’s Leuna-Polyamid Shuts Nylon Production

Leuna-Polyamid plans to end nylon production at Germany’s Leuna chemical hub after failing to secure a new investor. Around 400 jobs are affected. The company has cited Chinese price pressure, rising energy costs and expensive raw materials. The closure is another blow to Germany’s struggling chemical industry and could also disrupt other companies operating at the integrated Leuna site.
