Asia’s plastics producers are being squeezed by sharply higher naphtha costs as crude oil volatility and Middle East supply disruptions hit feedstock markets. Because naphtha remains the dominant raw material for many Asian steam crackers, rising input costs are feeding directly into polyethylene, polypropylene and other polymer production, worsening margins across an already oversupplied petrochemical industry.
