Western petrochemical producers emerged as major winners from the Iran conflict. LyondellBasell’s adjusted first-half net income jumped more than fivefold to $1.56 billion, while INEOS more than doubled EBITDA across key chemicals businesses. Dow and ExxonMobil Chemicals also recorded sharp earnings gains as disrupted Middle Eastern supply tightened polymer markets, lifted prices and strengthened the competitiveness of North American ethane-based production.
