Japan Resonac Dumps Petrochemicals on Shareholders

Written by

·

Japanese chemicals group Resonac will effectively give away control of its petrochemicals business, Crasus Chemical. More than 80% of Crasus shares will be distributed directly to Resonac shareholders as an in-kind dividend, reducing Resonac’s stake below 20%. Crasus, producing ethylene, propylene, chemicals and synthetic resins, is scheduled to become independently listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in September 2026.
