The original purpose of Bioplastics News was simple: to create a full satire of the plastics industry, the recycling fairy tale, and all the greenwashed corporate nonsense surrounding it. To bring a bit of entertainment, irony, and laughter into a world filled with press releases, buzzwords, and “sustainable visions.”

That’s basically what I’ve been doing for the last 13 years with Bioplastics News.
From building this website alone in my digital garage… to ending up in tribunals in Italy and Belgium. What an adventure it has been.
Over the years, I received three legal citations linked to cases involving Eni and Novamont. One of the largest oil companies in Europe — a company that generated more than €10 billion in profits over the last decade — demanded €2.1 million from me. Novamont demanded more than €1 million.
And then there’s the irony of seeing institutions that are supposed to defend freedom of speech asking me to remove words, names, and references connected to official communications published on my website.
In addition to this, I’m involved in ongoing legal disputes connected to individual(s) associated with these organisations, including litigation initiated by an employee. At one point, I also received formal communications from the European Commission that I personally perceived as threatening in tone, related to content on my website.
Whether intended that way or not, the effect was clear: pressure, confusion, and a constant reminder of how fragile independent publishing can be when it collides with institutional power.
Meanwhile, I live in Belgium, where taxes are already high, energy prices exploded, and like many people, I’m simply trying to survive the economic crisis, the energy crisis, and the endless list of modern crises while trying to make ends meet.
Yet somehow, these executives, corporate lawyers and European Commission public officials appear convinced that an independent blogger working from a garage is secretly making millions of euros.
They live in a completely different world from mine.
And now, right in the middle of another massive wave of conspiracy-file releases — UFOs, secret archives, mysterious documents — I thought: why not lean fully into the absurdity of it all?

Three subjects that have fascinated humanity for decades, generating endless speculation, obsession, documentaries, YouTube experts, late-night debates, and blurry images with red circles around them.
Well after 13 years of blogging, surviving lawsuits, pressure, chaos, and everything hanging over my head… If I had to leave one phrase with society based on what I’ve learned in this incredible journey that I went through with Bioplastics News …especially in time we’re living in …. it would be this — the quote I want you to remember:
