It is a valid approach as far as it’s clear to the consumer where each type of packaging waste belongs. A similar approach would be to chemically recycle biobased flexible food packaging that is hard to recycle. Part of the feedstock would circle back with virgin quality and part would act as a biofuel to deliver the energy needed to run the process.
