DOE New Website on Bio Economy Challenges and Impact

The IBMS is a website featuring information about a collection of models and tools developed by national laboratories with BETO support. These models and tools are used to understand technical challenges and potential environmental and economic impacts related to the biomass-to-biofuels, biopower, and bioproducts supply chain.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) in collaboration with DOE’s National Laboratories is releasing the Interactive Bioenergy Models System (IBMS).

This website includes:

  • A listing of inventoried models and tools addressing bioenergy, bioproducts, and the bioeconomy
  • Key information about each model, including a downloadable fact sheet showing relationships between models, publications, and model scope
  • An interactive display enabling the user to explore the interconnectivity between models.
