Canadian Petition to ban SUP

TELL THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT IT MUST MEET ITS COMMITMENT TO BAN UNNECESSARY SINGLE-USE PLASTICS BY 2021

Our world is facing a plastic crisis. Plastic is everywhere and in everything. It’s in Arctic ice, every fish tested in the Great Lakes, beluga whales, seabirds and the food we eat.

Plastics have been found on the seafloor and even in ocean breeze.

22 million kilograms of plastic leaks into the ocean every day – roughly equivalent to dumping a garbage truck full of plastic into the oceans every minute.

This is devastating our planet. Whales, dolphins, sea turtles and other marine life are dying. The health of the ocean is in peril.

To make matters worse, the volume of plastic waste is expected to increase four times by 2050. Canada is part of the problem but can also be part of the solution.

Canadians want a future with plastic-free choices.

The federal government has committed to reducing single-use plastics to stop the flow of this toxic waste into the oceans. If the government fails to act, the oceans will continue to drown in plastic.

We must act now to ensure Canada implements a national ban on unnecessary single-use plastics.

JOIN OCEANA CANADA AND TELL THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT THAT WE WANT HARMFUL AND UNNECESSARY SINGLE-USE PLASTICS BANNED BY 2021

Together, we can help Canada #EndThePlasticDisaster.
