The Narcissism of BBI JU (FREE)

A little anecdote about the BBI JU. This is a FREE article.

The BBI JU published a press release on 8 July 2021:

Green Transition In Europe: Bbi Ju, A Booster Of Europe’s Bioeconomy Supporting The European Green Deal

A recent article in the EFB Bioeconomy Journal shows how, since 2014, the BBI JU has addressed the environmental objectives now at the heart of the European Green Deal. It also presents the actions taken by the partnership to support research and innovation across Europe to fulfil the goals of important policy areas such as the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan, the Farm to Fork Strategy and the Bioeconomy Strategy. Read below some of the ways the BBI JU is contributing to the sustainable circular economy.

Interesting …. very interesting

I’m not sure what they mean with ” the Authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper”.

One of the author of the study, “Phillipe Mengal” is the Executive Director of the BBI JU; he runs BBI JU.

Discrimination of Individuals

In the meantime, the BBI JU keeps funding organisation involved in the discrimination of individuals.

BBI JU is an EU organisation. The EU Charter of Fundamental Rights lays down the fundamental rights that are binding upon EU institutions and bodies and guarantees EU citizens’ rights. The Charter should apply to BBI JU and technically speaking BBI JU should not provide EU funding to organisations that infringe on article 21 of this Charter.

Article 21 : Non-DiscriminationAny discrimination based on any ground such as sex, race, colour, ethnic or social origin, genetic features, language, religion or belief, political or any other opinion, membership of a national minority, property, birth, disability, age or sexual orientation shall be prohibited.

Final Note

It’s our duty as citizen to protest against injustices and discriminations; especially when our institutions are being used to serve the interests of the powerful instead of the interests of the many.
