International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) is a globally applicable system that covers all feedstocks and assures that products and materials are sustainable in a measurable way. In addition to phone cases, Eastman is producing Tritan Renew with certified recycled content for a variety of other products.
“This is a significant step forward in our sustainability journey, and we look forward to talking with brands about how we can help them take immediate steps toward meeting their own sustainability goals,” said Chen Jianping, chairman of the China-based JAME, one of the world’s largest original design manufacturers for protective cases.
Tritan Renew offers sustainability without compromise, providing durability and shatter resistance while holding up against cleaning agents. With up to 50% recycled content* derived from plastic waste, it is a superior, sustainable alternative to polycarbonate in protective cases.
“We’re excited about working with JAME to help support brands’ sustainability needs across the world,” said Courtland Jenkins, commercial director of specialty plastics for Eastman. “We can show companies throughout the electronics market what we can do together to advance the circular economy. And the best thing about it is we can do it right now.”
*Via its Advanced Circular Recycling technologies, Eastman produces circular products that are certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) for recycled content by mass balance allocation.
