Biopak Cups with Aboriginal Art

BioPak has partnered with community development organisation SevGen Indigenous Corporation and Plastic Free Noosa to release a limited edition Art Series BioCup that puts Aboriginal art into the hands of our global community.

Australia’s leading sustainable foodservice packaging company BioPak has partnered with community development organisation SevGen Indigenous Corporation and Plastic Free Noosa to release a limited edition Art Series BioCup that puts Aboriginal art into the hands of our global community.

The limited edition BioCups are made from plants and will completely biodegrade through the industrial composting process.

The cups feature a custom design by artist Shauna Hill — a traditional owner descendent of the Kabi Kabi people.

“SevGen has given me the opportunity to step into a graphic art space through working at SevGen’s social enterprise ‘Deadly Espresso’ in partnership with the Peregian Digital Hub”, Shauna says.

Like the plants that are used to produce BioCups, SevGen focuses on sustainable business practices that align with the 17 global sustainable development goals.

Business Manager Terri Waller says that SevGen is “striving to create wellness through connection and relationships. [We] have a sustainability ethos that flows through our organisation… Refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, repurpose.”

“Our principles are sharing and caring…Plastic Free Noosa is a great influencer and connects us with fellow future thinkers…[BioPak is] embodying ‘care for country’ withecological philosophies in the company”. – Terri Waller

Shauna is proud to present this ‘Care for Country story’ as part of the global Art Series to raise awareness of the impacts our deliberations and actions have on future generations.

“The turtle represents marine life, the wavy lines represent the waterways, the people sitting are mankind, and the footprints indicate the low impact we are committed to strive for….I am happy to be part of the SevGen team and making a difference through my work and art”.

“BioPak is thrilled to be collaborating with SevGen and Plastic Free Noosa to help raise awareness of the impacts our deliberations and actions have on future generations.

Taking responsibility for our actions and looking towards the future is at the core of what we do, and we are extremely proud to share Shauna’s amazing work” says BioPak Sustainability Manager, Lea Maguero.

The SevGen Art Series BioCups are available for purchase on the BioPak website and will soon be able to be purchased from SevGen and Deadly Espresso directly as a custom cup.
